We provide design solutions which incorporate Renewable Energy Technologies for Low Energy and Low CO2 buildings. We are registered with Sustainable Energy Ireland as Energy Consultants and approved BER auditors.

We aim to deliver a high value service to our clients and the design teams we work with, based on our knowledge of economics; site selection and evaluation; engineering design; and infrastructure.

We provide consultant engineering on new project, building appraisals, restorations/refurbishments and advise on building materials

LATEST PROJECTS

2024 Award Winner

Mount Congreve House & Gardens 

RMCE were delighted to be part of the award winning team working with Waterford City & County Council, Failte Ireland and Mount Congreve Trust on their refurbishment of Mount Congreve House & Gardens and the construction of a new visitors centre. 

This project focused on Sustainability and Universal Design with features such as the following. 

  • Zero fossil fuel use in heating, hot water and catering
  • Building fabric thermal improvements to a protected structure through the use of Calcitherm insulation
  • Heating generated by high efficiency air to water heat pumps
  • Hot water generated using high efficiency air to water heat pumps
  • Mechanical ventilation using high efficiency heat recovery
  • Natural ventilation strategy was adopted for cooling and ventilating the enclosed east courtyard
  • Use of high-performance glazing to the East Courtyard roof to limit overheating
  • Low energy lighting with daylight sensing and absence detection to ensure artificial lighting is used only when necessary
